Exceptions

You don’t need a 3-wheel endorsement on your driver license to operate a 3-wheeled vehicle if it meets all of the following requirements:

  1. The seat is in a partially or completely enclosed seating area.
  2. The vehicle has safety belts.
  3. You can steer the vehicle with a steering wheel.

Transfer your endorsement

  1. You must have a valid motorcycle license or endorsement from another state.

We can transfer valid 3-wheel endorsements from:

  • U.S. states
