Renewing your license
Licenses expire every 2 years on your birthday. You can renew up to 120 days before your license expires.
Effective January 1, 2026, every trainee, licensee, and certificate holder must complete a course that meets the content requirements of the Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations, as outlined in the Real Property Appraiser Qualifications Criteria. The course must be at least 7 hours and completed by your next renewal. Any courses related to Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations taken before January 1, 2026, DO NOT meet this requirement. Renewal requirements
Have your required continuing education completed:
- 28 hours of courses including:
- 7-hour Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) Update course
- Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course
You'll need to provide your certificates of completion.
Update your contact information online, if necessary, before you renew your license.

Renew your license by mail
Complete a Real Estate Appraiser/Appraiser Trainee Renewal Affidavit.
Mail your form and a check or money order (payable to the Department of Licensing) for the renewal fee to:
