When your license expires
Your license expires on your birthday. Please note:
- If you first applied less than 120 days before your birthday, then your license expires on your birthday next year.
- If you first applied more than 120 days before your birthday, then your license expires on your birthday in the same year.
Renew your license
- You must review your license every two years.
- You can renew up to 120 days before your license expires.
How to renew your license
Follow these steps to renew your license. Update your contact information online, if necessary, before you renew.
1. Gather the required documents
- Renewal application form
- Operator training certificate (if your last training was more than 5 years ago)
- Payment for the license renewal fee
2. Renew your license by mail
Complete a Reduction Operator Renewal Application form. If it's been more than 5 years since you completed operator training, you must also get recertified and include your new certificate with your renewal form.
Mail your renewal forms with a check or money order for the license fee (payable to the Department of Licensing) to:
