If you do not want a driver license anymore, you can change it to an EID. Your EID can be used for identification and boarding domestic flights.
Before you get started
- If you change from an Enhanced Driver License (EDL) to a standard ID, your card won't work for air travel or accessing federal facilities beginning May 3, 2023
- If you don't get your ID or Enhanced ID (EID) after 30 days, call us at 360.902.3900 (TTY: call 711)

How much does an ID cost?
Fees to change your driver license to an ID:
- Change to a standard ID: $54 for six years, $72 for eight years
- Change to an Enhanced ID: $96 for six years, $128 for eight years
You'll need to make an appointment to visit a driver licensing office to make the change
