Appraisal management company licenses expire each year and you can renew up to 120 days before the expiration date. Learn how to renew your license or make an update.

Renew your license

  • Licenses expire every year.
  • You can renew 120 days before your license expires.
  • Get your license faster by renewing online.
  • You'll be charged a late fee if you don't renew before the expiration date.
  • If the $100,000 surety bond expires or is canceled during the licensure period, the company cannot conduct appraisal management services in Washington until proof of coverage is submitted and approved.
  • Unlicensed activity could result in disciplinary action.

How to renew

Gather the necessary documents

Complete:

Have:

  • Proof of active surety bond (rider, continuation certificate, or DOL bond form, etc.)
  • Any documents to support answers to legal background questions

Renew your license online

You'll receive your license faster by renewing and paying online.

Log into SecureAccess Washington (SAW) or create an account to apply, upload your paperwork, and pay the renewal fee.

Renew your license by mail

Mail your forms and a check or money order for the renewal fee (payable to the Department of Licensing) to:

If the renewal is incomplete, we will contact your company's Designated Controlling Person.

Update by mail

Send us an email, fax, or letter requesting the needed change – see addresses below.

Update your surety bond information

Update online

Log into SecureAccess Washington (SAW) or create an account to update online.

If your bond is expired in our system, we'll review the uploaded document and update your license status. Email us with your AMC license number included to let us know you submitted updated bond information.

Update by mail

Send a letter requesting the needed change(s) to:
