Change your notification preferences

This guide is for customers who want to change how they get notifications about:

• License Express accounts
• Prorate and Fuel Tax (PRFT) accounts

If you previously use Taxpayer Access Point (TAP) to manage user logons and complete other transactions, you can learn:

Gather the required information

To change your notification preferences in License Express, you’ll need your License Express username and password.

Change notification preferences for your License Express account

Follow the steps below to change how we send you notifications about your License Express account.

1. From the summary page, choose “Settings” in the main navigation.

2. Next to your organization’s name, you’ll see your preferences for:

• Mail Delivery
• Mail Notification
• Mail Language

3. To learn how to change each of these preferences, see the sections below.

Mail delivery preferences

4. Next to “Mail Delivery,” choose your current preference. It will say either “Paper” or “Electronic.”

5. Decide how you prefer to get notifications:

1. Choose the “Paper” option to receive notifications by mail.
2. Choose the “Electronic” option to receive notifications online.
3. After choosing an option, choose the “Save” button.

6. Next to “Mail Notification,” choose your current preference. If you haven’t changed this, it will say “Notify me of new mail.”

7. Decide whether you want to get notifications for new mail:

1. Choose the “Notify me of new mail” option to receive notifications when we send you mail.
2. Choose the “Do not notify me of new mail” option if you don’t want to receive notifications when we send you mail.
3. After choosing an option, choose the “Save” button.

8. Next to “Mail Language,” choose your current preference. If you haven’t changed this, it will say “English.”

9. Decide which language we should use in our mail to you:

1. Choose the option for the language you prefer.
2. After choosing an option, choose the “Save” button.

Change notification preferences for your PRFT account

By default, the notification preferences for your PRFT account will be the same as the preferences for your License Express account. If you want to use different notification preferences for your PRFT account, follow the steps below.

1. From the summary page, choose “Settings” in the main navigation.

2. Next to your type of PRFT account (such as IRP, IFTA, or dyed diesel), you’ll see your preferences for:

• Mail Delivery
• Mail Notification
• Mail Language

3. To learn how to change each of these preferences, see the sections below.

4. Next to “Mail Delivery,” choose your current preference. If you haven’t changed this, it will say “Default” and the option you chose for your License Express account.

5. Indicate how you prefer to get notifications:

1. Choose the "Default" option to use the same preference as your License Express account.
2. Choose the “Paper” option to receive notifications by mail.
3. Choose the “Electronic” option to receive notifications online.
4. After choosing an option, choose the “Save” button.

6. Next to “Mail Notification,” choose your current preference. If you haven’t changed this, it will say “Default” and the option you chose for your License Express account.

7. Indicate whether you want to get notifications for new mail:

1. Choose the “Notify me of new mail” option to receive notifications when we send you mail.
2. Choose the “Do not notify me of new mail” option if you don’t want to receive notifications when we send you mail.
3. After choosing an option, choose the “Save” button.

8. Next to “Mail Language,” choose your current preference. If you haven’t changed this, it will say “Default” and the option you chose for your License Express account.

9. Indicate which language we should use in our mail to you:

1. Choose the “Default” option to use the same preference as your License Express account.
2. If you want to get mail about your PRFT account in a different language, choose the option for the language you prefer.
3. After choosing an option, choose the “Save” button.
