To prepare for your Commercial Driver License (CDL) tests, you should study the Washington State Commercial Driver Guide (English).

Important update to the Commercial Driver Guide

Page 1-6 of the guide states that effective January 15, 2008, you must present a certificate of training from a school or an employer when you apply for a CDL. This requirement has been delayed until approximately January 2, 2009. You won’t be required to present these certificates until further notice.

You may also get a copy of the guides at any driver licensing office. If you live out of state or cannot get to a driver licensing office, we will mail you one. Contact Customer Service at (360) 902-3900 or email drivers@dol.wa.gov to have one sent to you.
