Close your business account

To close your Master License account if you close your business, you must do one of the following:

• email us at mls@dol.wa.gov.
• mail or fax a letter requesting to close your business to the Master License Service at the address below.
• use the Business Information Change form.

Be sure to:

• note your Unified Business Identifier number (UBI).
• include the date of closure.
• sign and date your request.

Your trade names cannot be cancelled unless you specifically request it in your letter, email, or fax.

Notify other regulatory agencies

The Master License Service will notify Department of Revenue, Employment Security, and Labor and Industries for you if your Master License lists any endorsement regulated by these agencies.

If your business structure is a corporation, limited liability company, limited liability partnership, or limited partnership and you wish to terminate your business structure, you will also need to contact the Office of the Secretary of State at (360) 725-0377 for the appropriate documentation.
