City of Bellevue license

Who needs a license?

The City of Bellevue requires all businesses located within the city limits, or who conduct business within the city limits, to be licensed with the city. Approval of license goes through finance, planning, and building departments. If your business is conducted in your home, certain restrictions may apply.

Home businesses

In addition to the general registration, Bellevue requires a Home Occupation Permit for businesses that conduct any part of business from their home, or if there is any external indication of commercial activity such as nonresident employees, client visits, business deliveries or vehicle signs. For information, contact the Bellevue Department of Planning and Community Development at (425) 452-4188.

Special events

A Temporary Special Event license is required for anyone promoting a special event open to the public where 15 or more vendors are participating in selling, bartering, exchanging, or displaying goods or services. This license must be obtained directly from the City of Bellevue at (425) 452-6851.
